This essay will explore whether society as a whole is becoming more or less engaged in volunteer activities.

On one hand, it can be argued that society is indeed becoming more engaged in volunteer work. The rise of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and the emphasis on corporate social responsibility have played a major role in encouraging people to contribute their time and skills towards addressing social issues. Additionally, there are numerous platforms available online that connect potential volunteers with organizations in need of assistance. For example, websites such as VolunteerMatch and Idealist provide opportunities for individuals to get involved with causes they are passionate about.

Moreover, volunteering has become more accessible due to changes in work culture and social values. With the increasing importance placed on work-life balance and personal fulfillment, many people now view volunteer work as a way to give back to their communities while also gaining personal satisfaction and skills development.
