On one hand, technology has indeed improved personal privacy in several ways. The rise of encryption and secure communication platforms such as end-to-end messaging apps like WhatsApp and Signal allows people to engage in private conversations without the fear of eavesdropping or surveillance. Furthermore, with the advent of digital wallets and contactless payment systems, individuals can now make transactions with a greater degree of privacy, minimizing the risk of identity theft or credit card fraud.

However, on the other hand, there are numerous ways in which technology has diminished personal privacy. The increasing prevalence of social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter has led to an unprecedented sharing of personal information. People often share their thoughts, opinions, and even their daily routines with a broad audience, making it easier for cybercriminals or hackers to access sensitive data and exploit it.

Additionally, the rise of surveillance technology such as CCTV cameras, GPS tracking, and facial recognition systems has made it possible for governments and corporations to monitor individuals' movements and activities more closely than ever before. This level of scrutiny can be seen as an infringement on personal privacy rights.
