On the one hand, activists are seen as catalysts for social change. Throughout history, activism has been responsible for bringing attention to pressing issues, such as civil rights, gender equality, and environmental conservation. For instance, the Civil Rights Movement of the 1960s was largely driven by activists like Martin Luther King Jr., who used peaceful protests and demonstrations to raise awareness about racial inequality in the United States.
