This essay will discuss the key factors that contribute to this issue, such as overproduction, fast fashion trends, and the use of non-renewable resources.

One significant factor impacting sustainability is the practice of overproduction within the fashion industry. Many clothing brands produce a vast amount of garments, which often leads to excessive waste when unsold items are discarded. This not only contributes to environmental problems like pollution but also encourages a throwaway culture that can be detrimental to the long-term sustainability of the industry.

Another factor is the fast fashion trend, where clothes are produced at a rapid rate and sold at low prices to meet consumer demand for cheap garments. This practice has several negative consequences. For instance, it leads to the overconsumption of resources like water, energy, and textile fibers in order to keep up with production demands. Additionally, the fast fashion cycle can result in items becoming outdated quickly, leading to a higher rate of disposal and contributing to landfills.

Moreover, the fashion industry's reliance on non-renewable resources is another obstacle to sustainability.
