In this essay, I will discuss the role that urban green spaces play in enhancing air quality and explore some factors that should be considered when implementing these areas in cities.

Firstly, urban green spaces are known to absorb carbon dioxide, a major contributor to air pollution. Through the process of photosynthesis, plants in these areas consume carbon dioxide and release oxygen, thereby reducing the concentration of this harmful gas in the atmosphere. Additionally, trees and vegetation can also help filter out pollutants such as particulate matter and sulfur dioxide, further improving air quality.

Secondly, urban green spaces can act as a buffer against the effects of heat islands, which are areas where temperatures are significantly higher than in the surrounding rural areas due to human activities.
