Furthermore, the overuse of antibiotics in animal husbandry is contributing to the emergence of antimicrobial resistance, which poses a threat to global health.

On the other hand, the meat industry plays an essential role in the livelihoods of millions of people worldwide. The sector provides employment opportunities and contributes significantly to the economies of various countries. Additionally, it serves as a source of essential nutrients such as protein and vitamins for consumers.

However, there are concerns about the social sustainability of the meat industry. The current industrialized model of livestock farming raises ethical issues related to animal welfare.
