On one hand, there are valid concerns about how technology can contribute to environmental degradation. The increasing demand for electronic devices and computers has led to the overexploitation of natural resources, such as metals like lithium, cobalt, and copper, which are essential for producing these devices. Moreover, the production process generates a significant amount of waste, including hazardous substances that can contaminate air, soil, and water bodies. Additionally, energy-intensive manufacturing processes release greenhouse gases into the atmosphere, contributing to climate change.

On the other hand, technology has also played a pivotal role in addressing environmental issues. Renewable energy technologies, such as solar panels and wind turbines, have reduced our reliance on fossil fuels, thereby lowering carbon emissions. Moreover, advancements in waste management have led to the development of recycling processes that reduce the amount of waste ending up in landfills. Furthermore, GPS tracking systems help monitor endangered species, facilitating their conservation efforts.

In conclusion, while it is true that technology can exacerbate environmental problems through overconsumption and excessive production, it is also evident that advancements in renewable energy sources, waste management, and conservation efforts have significantly contributed to mitigating these issues. Therefore, the overall impact of technology on the environment depends on how responsibly we use and manage it.
