Trees and plants in urban green spaces act as natural carbon sinks, absorbing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and using it for growth. This process not only reduces the overall concentration of carbon dioxide but also leads to a decrease in other pollutants such as sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxides.
