To begin with, systemic racism and discrimination have been proven to have a significant impact on students' educational outcomes. For instance, research has shown that students of color are disproportionately placed in lower-performing schools and subjected to biased treatment from educators, which can negatively affect their academic performance (Lewin & Tran, 2017). By addressing these systemic issues, schools can help ensure that all students have equal access to quality education and the resources necessary for success.

Moreover, by focusing on the root causes of discrimination, schools can create a more inclusive environment where students from diverse backgrounds feel valued and respected. This is crucial as research has demonstrated that a sense of belonging is closely linked to academic achievement (Hurtado & Carter, 1997).
