The burning of fossil fuels, which dominate the current energy mix, leads to greenhouse gas emissions that contribute to global warming. Renewable energy sources, on the other hand, produce minimal or no emissions during operation, thus reducing air pollution and its associated health risks. For instance, a shift from coal-fired power plants to solar and wind farms can substantially decrease carbon emissions in regions reliant on fossil fuels for electricity generation.

Secondly, investing in renewable energy infrastructure can stimulate economic growth by creating new jobs and industries.
