On one hand, there are several reasons why renewable energy should be given priority. Firstly, renewable energy sources are environmentally friendly. They produce significantly less greenhouse gases compared to the burning of fossil fuels. The reduction in greenhouse gas emissions can help mitigate climate change and reduce air pollution, ultimately leading to a healthier planet.

Secondly, renewable energy sources are sustainable and abundant. Solar, wind, and hydroelectric power can be harnessed without depleting resources, unlike fossil fuels, which are finite. By investing in renewable energy, governments can ensure a steady supply of energy for future generations.

On the other hand, there are reasons why prioritizing fossil fuels might still be necessary. Fossil fuels currently provide the majority of the world's energy needs.
