One of the primary drivers of this economic divide is income inequality. As wealth becomes more concentrated in the hands of a few, the gap between the rich and the poor continues to widen. This is particularly evident in countries with high levels of income inequality, such as Brazil and South Africa. Factors contributing to this disparity include the globalization of economies, which has led to the creation of a small number of wealthy individuals who control vast amounts of capital, and the decline of well-paying jobs due to automation and outsourcing.

Another factor that contributes to the economic divide is access to education and healthcare.
