In today's world, where issues such as poverty and malnutrition are still prevalent, providing free meals in schools has become a topic of debate among many stakeholders. Some people argue that schools should take responsibility for providing free meals to all students, while others believe this is not the role of educational institutions. In this essay, I will explore both viewpoints before presenting my own perspective on this matter.

On one hand, there are those who advocate for the provision of free school meals as a way to combat hunger and poverty among students. They argue that access to nutritious meals at school ensures that students receive the necessary nourishment required for optimal learning and development. Moreover, these proponents believe that by removing the financial burden of providing meals, schools can alleviate the pressure on low-income families and encourage a more equitable educational environment.

On the other hand, opponents to this idea argue that it is not the primary responsibility of schools to provide free meals. They contend that the role of education institutions should focus primarily on academic achievement and the development of critical thinking skills. Supporters of this view believe that families have a duty to ensure their children are well-nourished and that it is not the obligation of the school system alone to address social issues such as hunger and poverty.

In my opinion, while I understand the importance of academic focus in schools, I believe that providing free meals for all students can play a significant role in reducing the negative impact of poverty and malnutrition on educational outcomes.
