In this essay, I will analyze both perspectives and provide my own viewpoint on the matter.

On one hand, it can be argued that society has indeed become more divided along economic lines. The rise of globalization and technological advancements have led to a shift in the job market, resulting in an increasing number of low-skilled jobs being outsourced or automated. This has left many people unable to find stable employment, leading to a widening income gap between the haves and the have-nots. Additionally, the concentration of wealth among the top 1% has grown significantly over the past few decades, further highlighting the divide.

Moreover, social mobility has been observed to be decreasing in many parts of the world. This means that people are finding it increasingly difficult to move up the economic ladder, regardless of their starting position.
