On one hand, it is clear that urbanization can have a range of adverse effects on the environment. For instance, increased construction activities in cities lead to deforestation and habitat destruction, which threaten biodiversity. Additionally, the growth of urban areas necessitates more infrastructure development, such as roads, highways, and bridges, leading to an expansion of impervious surfaces.
