Additionally, the use of advanced machinery has streamlined farming processes, reducing the need for manual labor and increasing efficiency.

On the other hand, these advancements have come at a cost to soil health. The intensive use of synthetic fertilizers can lead to an imbalance in soil nutrients, negatively affecting soil quality and its ability to support plant growth. Moreover, monoculture practices – growing a single crop over vast areas – deplete the soil of essential nutrients and increase vulnerability to pests and diseases.

Furthermore, industrial agriculture's reliance on heavy machinery and large-scale irrigation systems contributes to soil compaction and erosion. This can result in reduced water retention capacity and a decline in soil fertility over time. Additionally, the use of pesticides and herbicides can harm beneficial organisms in the soil, disrupting ecosystems and reducing soil biodiversity.
