These tools have proven especially valuable in maintaining relationships between family members separated by long distances, allowing them to stay emotionally connected despite the physical distance.

However, there are also valid concerns that technology has made us less socially connected. One major criticism is that the reliance on digital communication can lead to a reduction in face-to-face interactions, as people increasingly turn to social media and messaging apps for communication. This lack of personal interaction can result in superficial relationships and a decline in the quality of communication, as nuances such as tone, emotion, and body language are lost in digital exchanges.

Additionally, technology has been blamed for fostering an environment where people are constantly connected but also increasingly isolated. The rise of smartphones has resulted in a phenomenon known as "FOMO" (Fear of Missing Out), where individuals feel the need to stay constantly updated on social media, fearing they will miss out on something important or interesting happening elsewhere. This constant connectivity can lead to feelings of anxiety and loneliness, as people are often more focused on their online presence rather than engaging in meaningful face-to-face conversations.
