This essay will discuss the impact of cultural appropriation on marginalized groups and provide evidence-based arguments to support the claim that it has negative consequences for them.

Firstly, cultural appropriation can lead to the commercialization and commodification of marginalized cultures. For example, indigenous art forms such as traditional clothing, music, and dance are often co-opted by non-indigenous people without giving proper credit or compensation to the original creators. This not only strips these art forms of their cultural significance but also profits from them, leaving the original creators with little to no financial gain.

Secondly, cultural appropriation can contribute to perpetuating stereotypes and negative images associated with certain marginalized groups. For instance, when non-Asian individuals wear traditional Asian attire like geisha costumes at parties or festivals, it reinforces harmful stereotypes about Asians as "exotic" or "oriental."
