One of the most apparent ways technology has seemingly enhanced personal privacy is through the development of encryption techniques and secure messaging apps. For instance, end-to-end encryption ensures that only the sender and receiver can read messages exchanged on platforms like WhatsApp, thereby safeguarding privacy from potential eavesdroppers. Additionally, virtual private networks (VPNs) and firewalls have made it possible for users to access information anonymously, thus shielding their online identity.
However, despite these apparent advancements, there are several reasons to argue that technology has primarily diminished personal privacy.
