One of the most evident impacts of climate change on agriculture is the alteration in precipitation patterns. Erratic rainfall has led to both floods and droughts, which have resulted in decreased crop yields and reduced grazing lands for livestock. For instance, prolonged droughts can lead to crop failure, affecting food supply and consequently increasing food prices. On the other hand, heavy downpours may cause soil erosion and damage crops that are not resistant to waterlogged conditions.

Moreover, climate change has also affected temperatures worldwide. Rising temperatures have been observed to accelerate plant growth in some areas; however, this can be detrimental in other aspects. This disrupts the planting and harvesting schedules, leading to a mismatch between supply and demand. As a result, farmers may face financial losses due to spoiled or unsold produce.

To counteract these negative effects, several measures can be implemented. The promotion of sustainable agricultural practices, such as crop rotation, agroforestry, and organic farming, can help maintain soil fertility and resist pests and diseases. Additionally, the development and use of climate-resilient crop varieties can aid in adapting to these changing conditions.
