Firstly, bullying and harassment undermine the trust that students place in their teachers and administration to maintain a safe and respectful learning atmosphere. When such incidents are not properly addressed or resolved, it sends a message to all students that misconduct will go unpunished, leading to a decline in school morale and an increase in anxiety levels.

Secondly, victims of bullying and harassment often experience long-lasting psychological effects. These can include feelings of isolation, low self-esteem, depression, and even post-traumatic stress disorder. This not only affects the academic performance of the targeted students but also contributes to a toxic culture within the school community where students are pitted against one another.

Lastly, bullying and harassment have a ripple effect on bystanders as well.
