Additionally, many educational institutions have their own pages or groups on these platforms, allowing students to stay informed about announcements, deadlines, and campus events. These tools can help students stay engaged in their studies and connected with the academic community, ultimately improving their academic performance.

On the other hand, social media can also be a major distraction for students. The constant stream of updates, notifications, and messages can be incredibly tempting, leading to procrastination and poor time management. Furthermore, the addictive nature of social media can result in students spending excessive amounts of time scrolling through their feeds, leaving little time for studying or completing assignments. This overuse of social media can negatively impact a student's focus, concentration, and overall academic performance.

In conclusion, while social media has the potential to enhance students' academic performance by providing valuable resources and fostering collaboration, it can also act as a significant distraction that impedes learning.
