On one hand, technology has indeed exacerbated certain environmental problems. For instance, the rapid increase in industrialization and urbanization has led to a significant rise in pollution levels, particularly air and water pollution. Moreover, the mass production of consumer goods through advanced manufacturing processes has generated an alarming amount of waste and contributed to the depletion of non-renewable resources.

On the other hand, technology has also played a pivotal role in alleviating environmental problems. Renewable energy sources, such as solar, wind, and hydroelectric power, have become increasingly popular, reducing our reliance on fossil fuels and subsequently lowering greenhouse gas emissions. Additionally, innovations in waste management, recycling, and resource conservation have greatly reduced the negative impacts of human activities on the environment.

In conclusion, while it is evident that technology has both exacerbated and alleviated environmental problems, the overall effect depends on how it is employed. If utilized responsibly and ethically, technology can continue to mitigate environmental issues and contribute to a more sustainable future.
