This essay will discuss how climate change is exacerbating the frequency and severity of these catastrophic events, as well as their long-term implications for humanity.

Firstly, climate change has led to a rise in extreme weather conditions that contribute to the occurrence of natural disasters. Rising global temperatures have resulted in more frequent and intense storms, hurricanes, and typhoons, causing widespread destruction in affected regions. For instance, Hurricane Harvey in 2017 brought unprecedented rainfall and flooding to Houston, Texas, which was exacerbated by the warmer waters of the Gulf of Mexico that fueled the storm's strength. Moreover, melting polar ice caps have caused sea levels to rise, increasing the likelihood of coastal regions being submerged by rising tides or experiencing devastating floods.

Secondly, climate change has had a profound impact on the occurrence and intensity of droughts and wildfires. Warmer temperatures accelerate the evaporation process, leading to decreased precipitation in certain areas. This, coupled with more frequent and prolonged heatwaves, has created ideal conditions for wildfires to spread rapidly and intensify their devastation.
