Firstly, poverty often leads to limited access to educational resources. Families living in low-income neighborhoods tend to have fewer books at home, lower quality school facilities, and less access to extracurricular activities such as after-school programs. These resource disparities contribute significantly to the achievement gap between students from different socioeconomic backgrounds. Furthermore, poverty often necessitates that children work or care for siblings, leaving them with insufficient time and energy to devote to their studies, which in turn negatively impacts their academic performance.

Secondly, the psychological effects of living in poverty can also hinder educational outcomes. Chronic stress and anxiety caused by financial instability may lead to decreased cognitive function, difficulty concentrating, and reduced motivation among students.
