Firstly, one of the most apparent consequences of social inequality is poverty. In many cases, those who are financially unstable find themselves unable to provide for their basic needs, such as food, shelter, and clothing. The desperation to fulfill these necessities often leads individuals to engage in criminal activities, such as theft or drug trafficking. For example, the high rate of street crime in impoverished neighborhoods can be attributed to a lack of economic opportunities and support systems that would otherwise keep residents on the right side of the law.

Secondly, inadequate access to education is another aspect of social inequality that contributes to increased crime rates.
