This rapid progression raises the question of whether society is becoming more or less resistant to change. While some argue that societies are increasingly adaptable, others contend that resistance to change persists due to factors such as tradition, fear, and inertia. In this essay, I will analyze both perspectives and ultimately argue that overall, society is becoming more resilient and open to new ideas and innovations.

On one hand, there are several reasons to believe that societies are growing less resistant to change. Firstly, globalization has facilitated the exchange of ideas, cultures, and technologies across national borders, exposing people to diverse perspectives and practices. This increased exposure fosters curiosity and encourages individuals to embrace new concepts and adapt to evolving circumstances. Furthermore, education systems in many countries have begun incorporating critical thinking, problem-solving, and innovation into their curricula, equipping students with the necessary skills to navigate an increasingly complex world. Lastly, social media platforms have become powerful catalysts for change, enabling individuals and groups to mobilize quickly and effectively in response to new developments or challenges.

However, it is essential not to overlook the factors that may contribute to societal resistance to change. Tradition and cultural identity are often deeply ingrained in a society's values and norms. People may be reluctant to abandon long-held beliefs and practices in favor of new ideas or technologies, fearing that they will lose their sense of belonging and identity. In addition, the human tendency towards inertia makes it difficult for individuals to adapt to sudden changes. This resistance is especially evident when change is perceived as threatening or disruptive to one's personal life, community, or nation.

While both perspectives have merit, it can be argued that overall, societies are becoming more resilient and open to change. Globalization, education systems, and social media platforms have all played a role in promoting adaptability, curiosity, and innovation. However, traditional values, fear of disruption, and human inertia still exist as barriers to change.

In conclusion, while there are factors that contribute to societal resistance to change, the increasing influence of globalization, education, and technology has led to a greater acceptance and adaptability to new ideas and innovations. As a result, it is reasonable to assert that society is becoming more resistant to change rather than less so.
