While some argue that it is not the responsibility of the school to address this issue, others believe that schools have a crucial role in promoting mental health among students.

On one hand, it can be argued that mental health counseling should be provided by schools for several reasons. Firstly, schools are where students spend a significant portion of their time, making them an ideal setting for early intervention and support. By offering mental health counseling, schools can help identify and address issues such as stress, anxiety, depression, and other psychological problems that may hinder a student's academic performance and overall well-being.

Secondly, providing mental health counseling in schools helps reduce the stigma associated with seeking help for mental health issues. By having professionals available on campus, students are more likely to feel comfortable discussing their concerns and receiving support without fear of judgment or discrimination.
