However, whether or not governments should provide universal access to education beyond high school remains a topic of debate. In this essay, I will present the arguments for both sides of this issue, and ultimately conclude which side holds more weight.

On one hand, providing universal access to higher education is essential in order to ensure that all citizens have an equal opportunity to succeed in life. Education is a powerful tool that can break the cycle of poverty and enable individuals to contribute meaningfully to their communities. For example, studies have shown that nations with higher levels of educational attainment experience greater economic growth and social cohesion. By investing in the education of its citizens, a government can pave the way for a more prosperous and harmonious society.

On the other hand, critics argue that governments should not be responsible for providing universal access to higher education beyond high school. They contend that it is up to individuals to determine their own career paths and make informed decisions about whether or not to pursue higher education. Additionally, opponents of this policy believe that the limited financial resources of a government should be directed towards more pressing needs, such as healthcare, infrastructure, and social welfare programs.

While there are valid arguments on both sides of this debate, I believe that providing universal access to education beyond high school is an essential investment for governments to make in order to foster economic growth, reduce poverty, and promote social cohesion.
