The primary drivers behind this trade are economic gain, cultural beliefs, and a lack of awareness regarding the long-term consequences of exploiting wildlife. For instance, the demand for endangered species' products, such as tiger bones in traditional Chinese medicine or rhino horns as status symbols in some Asian countries, has led to rampant poaching.
