For example, the Amazon rainforest, a critical carbon sink, has been shrinking at an alarming rate due to agricultural activities, mining, and infrastructure expansion. Governments should prioritize conservation to preserve these ecosystems, which not only provide invaluable services such as air purification, water regulation, and climate regulation but also serve as a source of livelihood for numerous communities worldwide.

Furthermore, the exploitation of non-renewable natural resources is another concern arising from economic development.
