In order to mitigate these adverse effects, individuals, businesses, and governments must collaborate and implement sustainable practices.

One of the most significant impacts of consumerism on the environment is the excessive consumption of non-renewable resources. As people purchase more goods and services, the demand for raw materials such as oil, gas, coal, and metals increases, leading to their rapid depletion. Moreover, the extraction process often involves deforestation and habitat destruction, which contributes to the loss of biodiversity.
