These events disrupt the growing season and reduce crop yield. For instance, prolonged periods of drought can lead to water scarcity, limiting irrigation options for farmers. Additionally, heavy rains or flooding can wash away topsoil, reducing the fertility of agricultural land and increasing soil erosion.

Another consequence of climate change on agriculture is the shift in temperature and rainfall patterns. Increased temperatures can lead to a shorter growing season, reducing crop yield.
