While it is difficult to measure the extent of this change accurately, several indicators suggest that society is indeed becoming more environmentally conscious.

Firstly, a significant increase in the number of recycling programs worldwide has been observed. Governments and private organizations have launched numerous campaigns aimed at reducing waste and promoting sustainable practices. For example, the European Union's Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive requires manufacturers to take responsibility for the disposal of their products, which has led to a rise in recycling rates across member countries.

Secondly, there has been a notable shift in consumer behavior towards eco-friendly products. Consumers are increasingly opting for energy-efficient appliances, reusable shopping bags, and organic food items. This change in consumption patterns reflects the growing recognition of the need to reduce one's carbon footprint.
