Sample answer: I recall a situation during my exchange program in India, where I had to deal with a difficult cultural difference. It was during one of the festivals when all the Indian students were excitedly preparing for a traditional dance performance. As an outsider, I found it challenging to understand and adapt to their customs, especially since their dance form was quite different from what we had back in my home country.
The problems I faced included language barriers and a lack of understanding about the significance of the dance form. Moreover, the Indian students were initially hesitant to teach me due to their own biases and preconceived notions about foreigners. To overcome these challenges, I sought help from a few Indian friends who patiently explained the intricacies of the dance and helped me grasp the meaning behind each movement.
This experience taught me the importance of patience, open-mindedness, and respecting other cultures' traditions. It also allowed me to form deeper connections with my Indian peers and broaden my perspective on life.
