Sample answer: A few years ago, I faced a particularly challenging academic situation when I had to take an exam in a subject that I was not familiar with. The exam covered a wide range of topics, and I only had limited time to prepare for it. To confront this challenge, I first reviewed the course materials and sought help from my friends who were more knowledgeable about the subject. Additionally, I attended extra lessons offered by the professor and practiced solving problems on my own. As a result of these efforts, I was able to pass the exam, albeit with a lower grade than I had hoped for.
