Sample Answer:
In 2018, I participated in a community clean-up event in my hometown. While walking along the riverbank with some friends and family members, we noticed a large amount of trash and debris that had accumulated on the banks and floating in the water. This problem not only affected the local ecosystem but also posed a threat to human health.
We decided to organize an event to raise awareness about the importance of keeping our environment clean and encourage people to dispose of their waste properly. We contacted local businesses and schools, inviting them to join us in this effort. On the day of the event, we divided into groups, with each group assigned a specific section of the riverbank to clean.
Throughout the day, we collected several bags full of trash, including plastic bottles, cans, and even old tires. We also took the opportunity to educate people about the impact of littering on the environment and wildlife. After the event, we delivered a presentation to the local government, urging them to implement more effective waste management systems in our community.
As a result of our efforts, the local government agreed to improve waste collection services in the area, and several businesses committed to reducing plastic usage in their establishments. While the problem has not been entirely resolved, we have taken significant steps towards a cleaner and healthier environment for ourselves and future generations.
