Sample answer:
I remember a time when I had to confront my fear of heights while on a trip to Machu Picchu in Peru. It was an adventurous journey, as we needed to climb a steep mountain path to reach the ancient city. As we got closer and higher, I started feeling anxious due to the sheer drop on one side. To overcome this fear, I focused on my breathing and concentrated on the steps ahead of me rather than looking down. With each step, I gained more confidence and eventually made it to Machu Picchu without any accidents. This experience taught me that facing our fears can lead to personal growth and help us achieve great things.
Part 3:
1. How common are phobias among people? Are they usually treated by professionals or self-help methods?
2. In what situations might someone be more likely to confront their fear(s)?
3. Can you talk about some strategies for overcoming fears and anxieties? How effective are they generally speaking?
4. What role does society play in perpetuating or alleviating fears among individuals?
5. Are there any particular circumstances that might lead someone to face their fears more readily than others, such as personal growth experiences or support from loved ones?
6. How important is it for people to confront and overcome their fears, instead of avoiding them entirely? Why is this so?
