Part 2 (Cue Card):
Title: A Time When You Had to Confront a Challenge Head-On
In this part of the test, you will be given a topic and you should talk about it for one to two minutes. After you finish speaking, the examiner may ask you one or two questions related to your topic. Here is the cue card:
Describe a time when you had to confront a challenge head-on. What was the situation, and what actions did you take to overcome the challenge?
After preparing a brief outline in your mind for your response, begin speaking about the situation you recall that required you to face a significant challenge directly. Talk about:
- The situation or problem you faced
- The emotions or thoughts you experienced during this time
- The actions you took to confront and overcome the challenge
- The outcome of your efforts, including any lessons you learned from the experience
Part 3:
1. How can a person's resilience and determination impact their ability to overcome challenges?
2. What role does communication play in facing difficult situations or challenges head-on?
3. In what ways can individuals learn from their past experiences of confronting challenges?
4. Can you think of any examples from history, literature, or popular culture where someone overcame a major challenge through determination and persistence?
5. How important is it to have a strong support system when facing personal challenges, and how can this help an individual in overcoming these obstacles?
6. In what ways can communities or societies support individuals who are struggling with personal challenges?
7. How can education systems prepare students for the challenges they may face in their lives beyond school, such as workplace challenges or interpersonal difficulties?
