Part 2: Cue Card Topic - Describe a time when you had to work with someone you didn't get along with.
- When did this event occur, and where did it take place?
- How did you initially feel about having to work with that person?
- What specific incidents or behaviors caused the conflict between you and your colleague?
- How did you try to resolve these issues, if at all?
- Was there a turning point in your relationship with this person, and if so, what happened?
- How did your working relationship improve, if it did?
- What can you learn from this experience for future work situations?
Part 3: Topic-Based Questions
1. In some cultures, it is acceptable to be direct or confrontational when discussing problems with a colleague, while in others it is not. How do these different approaches affect the way people work together and communicate with each other at work?
2. When working in teams, it is important for all members to have clear roles and responsibilities. What can happen if team members' roles are unclear or overlapping, especially when there are conflicts between them?
3. In some cases, a supervisor may need to step in and resolve conflicts between colleagues. Can you discuss the pros and cons of having a supervisor involved in such situations, and share your own experiences in this regard, if any?
