Part 2: Cue Card

Title: A Difficult Interpersonal Situation

Talk about a time when you had to deal with a difficult interpersonal or relationship issue. You should say:
- what the situation was
- how it affected you and others involved
- what steps you took to resolve the problem
- whether you think your actions were successful or not, and explain why.

Part 3: Two-Way Discussion

1. In what situations do you think communication can break down between people? What factors can contribute to this breakdown?
2. How important is it to develop good communication skills for dealing with difficult interpersonal issues, in your opinion?
3. Some people believe that it's essential to confront the person directly when there's an issue. Others prefer to find a third party to mediate. What are your thoughts on this matter?
4. How do cultural differences affect communication and relationships between people from different backgrounds?
5. Can you think of any ways in which technology has helped or hindered communication in recent years?
