Part 2 (Cue Card):
Title: Discuss a memorable experience you had while participating in a research or scientific project.
- What was the project about?
- How long did it last, and how often did you meet with your teammates or supervisors?
- Describe one of the most challenging aspects of the project.
- What method or methods did you use to collect data for your research? Explain why this method was chosen over others.
- Did you face any obstacles during the course of the project, and how were they overcome?
- How did the experience help you grow personally and/or professionally?
Part 3:
1. What kind of projects do schools usually assign to students in your country (e.g., science fairs, research papers, etc.)? Why are these types of projects important for students' development?
2. How can technology be used to help improve the way scientific research is conducted today? Provide an example or two from any field.
3. What steps should a student take to make sure their project is ethically sound and respects all relevant regulations?
4. Some people believe that funding for arts programs in schools should be cut in order to allocate more money to science programs. Others think both subjects are equally important. In your opinion, how should public school funding be allocated between the arts and sciences? Why?
5. Do you think that the general public is well-informed about scientific issues and new discoveries? Explain your answer.
