Part 2: Cue Card - Talk about a cultural activity you participated in.
In this part of the test, you will be given a topic to talk about for one to two minutes. Here is a possible cue card for Part 2:
"Talk about a cultural activity you participated in."
Possible follow-up questions:
1. What was the cultural activity, and where did it take place?
2. How did you become interested in this particular activity or event?
3. Can you explain some of the traditions or practices that are associated with this cultural activity?
4. How did participating in this activity make you feel, and why was it important to you?
5. Did you meet any new people or learn anything new while participating in this activity?
6. What aspects of the cultural activity stood out the most to you, and why were they memorable for you?
7. How do you think participating in a cultural activity can help people understand each other better, if at all?
Part 3: Questions related to your topic in
Part 2.
After discussing your chosen cultural activity in Part 2, the examiner may ask you follow-up questions based on the ideas you mentioned in your talk. Here are some examples of these types of questions:
1. In what ways do people in your country celebrate this cultural event or tradition?
2. What role does this particular cultural activity play in the lives of people from your country, and why is it significant to them?
3. How has globalization affected traditional cultural activities, such as the one you talked about?
4. Are there any other cultural activities that you believe should be more widely recognized or celebrated around the world, and if so, which ones are they and why do you think they deserve this recognition?
5. What challenges have people from your country faced in preserving their cultural practices, especially in the face of modernization and globalization?
