- what you did to resolve it,
- and explain if you think the outcome was positive or negative overall.
Sample response:
I recall an incident during my time in college when I had a falling out with one of my close friends. It all started when we both applied for the same leadership position for our university's student council. Although I eventually got elected, she felt that I had taken advantage of her support and was upset about losing the position. This led to a series of arguments and cold shoulders between us.
To resolve this issue, I decided to sit down with her one day and have an open and honest conversation about our feelings and perspectives. It wasn't easy, as emotions were running high, but we managed to clear the air and apologize for any misunderstandings that had occurred. After that, we made a conscious effort to rebuild our friendship, which eventually became stronger than before.
In retrospect, this challenging experience taught me the importance of communication in resolving conflicts and maintaining healthy relationships. While it was difficult at the time, I am grateful for the lesson it provided and the stronger bond that emerged from it.

5. In what situations might it be better to avoid confrontation or not address an issue directly, and why?
