Part 2 (Cue Card) - Describe a time when you faced a language barrier:

In this part of the test, you'll be given a topic and you'll have one minute to prepare your answer. Once the minute is up, you'll have another two minutes to give your response. Here's a suggested cue card for Part 2:

"Describe a time when you faced a language barrier."

Here are some questions that might be asked based on this topic:

1. When and where did this situation occur?
2. What was the context of your communication difficulties, or what type of language barrier were you facing (e.g., cultural, accent-based, grammar-related)?
3. How did this affect you personally, or what emotions did you experience during this time?
4. Can you tell me about any strategies you used to overcome this barrier and effectively communicate with the other person(s) involved?
5. What was the outcome of the situation, and did it lead to any positive learning experiences for you?
6. In hindsight, what might you have done differently in this scenario, or do you think there are lessons you can take away from this experience to help you handle similar situations in the future?

Part 3 - Discussion of general topics related to

Part 2:

In this part of the test, you'll be asked a series of follow-up questions about topics related to your response in Part 2. Here are some suggested questions for discussion:

1. What are some challenges that people may face when they learn or use a new language?
2. How important is it for people to learn a second language, and what are the benefits of doing so?
3. In your opinion, which aspects of communication (speaking, listening, reading, writing) are most difficult to master in a new language?
4. What role does technology play in overcoming language barriers, and can you give an example of how it has helped you or someone you know?
5. How do you think cultural understanding and respect for different languages can help promote harmony between people from different countries or backgrounds?
6. Some argue that English is becoming the world's primary language. What are your thoughts on this statement, and how might this impact the future of other languages?
