Part 2: Cue Card - Describe a time when you overcame a fear. You should say:
- what the situation was
- how you felt at that moment
- what steps you took to overcome your fear
- what the outcome was
- and explain if this experience has changed you in any way or influenced your future actions.
Part 3: Discussion Topics
1. In what ways can people overcome their fears or phobias? What are some effective methods that have been proven to work? Why do you think these methods are effective?
2. Are there any common fears that many people share, such as fear of heights, fear of public speaking, etc.? Which one is more challenging for people to overcome in your opinion, and why?
3. In what ways can societies or communities help individuals overcome their fears or phobias? What kind of support systems are available for those who need help with overcoming their fears, and how effective are they?
4. How does the media portray fear and its consequences in movies, television shows, and news? What impact do these portrayals have on people's perception of fear and their willingness to face it?
5. Some argue that facing one's fears head-on is the best way to overcome them. Others believe that gradual exposure or therapy is more effective. Which side do you agree with, and why?
